1.1.2
Fixed a layout issue where calculator screens could clip or overlap content when a safety warning banner was visible. Affects Best Mix, Operating Limits, Gas Properties, Equivalent Depths, Dive Profile Advisor, and Bottom Time.
On Mac, the main window, Formula Reference, and Tool Explainer windows now enforce proper minimum and maximum size constraints.
1.1.0
Share any calculation via link: generates a URL with QR code that opens in Dalton or falls back to a web preview. Shareable formula cards with branded image export for dive team briefings.
Quick Launch home screen widget: 2x2 grid to open MOD, Best Mix, EAD/END, or Gas Properties with a tap. Quick MOD Reference widget shows pre-computed MOD for a selected gas mix on home screen and lock screen. Lock screen widget support in circular, rectangular, and inline formats.
Deep link preview mode for Pro tools shows calculation result before prompting unlock. Share actions consolidated into a single toolbar menu (link, QR code, image card, text). Improved readability of tool explainer cards. QR code rendering reliability on first generation. Share sheet preview showing raw text instead of card image.
1.0.2
New safety warnings for gas planning edge cases.
Operating Limits now flags gases with shallow maximum operating depths. A “Shallow MOD” caution appears when MOD falls below 22m/72ft — common with rich deco mixes. A “Very Shallow MOD” critical warning triggers below 7m/23ft, catching pure O2 and high-fraction mixes like EAN80 that are only usable during decompression stops. These warnings exist because selecting a deco gas for a bottom segment is a serious planning error.
Best Mix now warns when your target depth pushes beyond recreational limits. “Beyond Recreational Limit” fires at depths past 39.5m/130ft, flagging that decompression planning is likely required — and Dalton is explicitly not a deco planner. A separate “No Enrichment Benefit” notice appears when the best mix result is just Air, meaning enriched gas adds nothing at that depth.
All safety warning text now shows dual-unit depth values (e.g., “30m/100ft”) regardless of your unit preference. No mental conversion required.
Also in this update:
- Text field alongside the depth slider for precise numeric entry — a significant improvement for VoiceOver users
- Depth-zone icons provide a non-color safety cue next to depth values, improving usability for colorblind divers
- Tapping “Dalton Pro” in Settings now shows your included features, active-since date, and a link to manage your subscription
- New Open Source Licenses screen in Settings > About with third-party attributions
- Consistent accent coloring on all tappable rows in Settings
1.0.1
Safety improvement: Deep air warnings now correctly trigger for near-air mixes (EAN22, EAN23) at depth, not just standard Air. If you dive lean nitrox, your warnings are now accurate.
Precision fix: Your decimal places preference (0-3) now applies everywhere it should. MOD, MinOD, EAD, END, and gas density displays all respect your setting. If you run 32% at ppO2 1.4, you’ll see 33.75m — not 33m — when you’ve asked for two decimal places. For tech divers planning tight margins, this matters.
Also in this update:
- Warning indicators no longer overlap content on smaller screens
- END explainer text in standard mode no longer references trimix concepts, keeping the experience clean for recreational divers
- Preferences now sync to shared storage, laying the groundwork for widgets in a future release
- You may occasionally be asked to rate Dalton after meaningful use. We keep these prompts rare and respectful of your workflow.
