Supported dive computers

Slate imports dives directly from your dive computer over Bluetooth — no desktop software, no cables, no account. Below is the list of computers we have tested. If yours is on this list, you can pair it with Slate and pull dives in seconds.

If your computer is not listed, you can still import dives via UDDF file. Most modern dive computers — including Garmin Descent watches — export UDDF.

UDDF file import

Any dive computer that exports UDDF can import into Slate. This includes Garmin Descent watches and many other major brands. Export the UDDF file from your manufacturer’s app, then open it from Slate’s import screen.

Apple Watch

Slate can pull depth data recorded by Apple Watch (Ultra and later models with depth tracking) via HealthKit.

Setup guide

  1. Open Slate and tap Import on the dive list.
  2. Choose Dive computer to start a Bluetooth pairing, or UDDF file to import a file.
  3. For Bluetooth: put your computer in transfer mode (the procedure varies by manufacturer — consult your computer’s manual). Slate will discover it and walk through pairing.
  4. Review imported dives. Slate’s deduplication will flag any dive you have already logged.
  5. Confirm and save.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a desktop or a Mac to import? No. Slate imports directly from your dive computer to your iPhone over Bluetooth.

Do I need an account? No. Slate is local-first. Your dive log lives on your device. There is nothing to sign up for.

My computer is not on the list. Will it work? If it exports UDDF, yes — use UDDF file import. If you want wireless Bluetooth import for a computer not yet listed, please email us. We expand support based on real-world testing.

What about Garmin Descent watches? Currently via UDDF file import only. Export the UDDF from Garmin Connect on your phone, then open it from Slate.

What if a dive imports incorrectly? You can edit any field after import, or delete and re-import. Slate’s deduplication will not duplicate an already-imported dive.

Where does my data live? On your device. Slate is local-first and offline-first. Export to UDDF or CSV at any time.
